re-specked cotton® の育てるぼうし「Jellyfish（ジェリーフィッシュ）」

saredo のスベック（ムラ）染めリサイクルコットン re-specked cotton （リ・スベクトコットン） を大阪や三重の横編ニット帽子工場さんで、希少な５ゲージのローゲージ横編機でアラン編みのフィッシャーマンズニットのような存在感のあるケーブル（縄）柄を表現したぼうしです。

手芸糸として販売している、紡績は島根県、前準備の綛（かせ）上げと仕上げコーン巻きは愛知県、手作業も入る特殊なムラ染めは新潟県と、３つの県を往き来してできた太番手の糸を、セーターを編むような５ゲージ横編機に、通常よりかなりオーバー番手となる２本取りの糸使いで編んでいます。その為、ニットとしてのストレッチ性や快適な被り心地を追求するのに幾多のサンプル修正や、モデルチェンジを経て完成した現在のかたち。

莫大小と書いてメリヤスと読むように、ニットには伸縮性があるが故に、その編目の詰め方（度目）や糸の取り本数により、伸び縮みや着用感だけでなく、帽子であれば被り続けていても、洗濯を繰り返しても型崩れしない、など、被ってすぐ、だけでなく、被り続けたのちも、製品としてギリギリ成立するかどうかの狭間での到達点（落としどころ）があるように思います。
落ちわたを再生して紡績した、太番手で甘撚りの糸を使用している為、熟練の職人さんの技で機械編みながら、ハンドフレームニットのようなしっかりとした質感のあるテクスチャーとニットとしての機能性を兼ね備えたプロダクトに仕上がりました。

リジッドのデニムを育てるように経年変化を楽しんでいただけて、夏でも冬でも気軽に被れる暮しの友として、時には水を得た海月（くらげ）のように泳がせていただき可愛がってやっていただけましたら幸いです。

re-specked cotton rib'n'cable growing-up beanie "Jellyfish"

These are the cotton 100% beanies knitted by rare 5 gauge low gauge flat knitting machines at knitting hat factory in Osaka and Mie pref. and finished by a cable pattern with a presence similar to a fisherman's sweater with a woven Aran pattern.
Speck-dyeing recycled cotton of saredo "re-specked cotton" is used for these beanies.

Thick count yarns, which are also sold as handicraft yarns, are spun in Shimane Pref., reeled up and finished in Aichi Pref., and unevenly dyed yarns, which are hand-dyed by hand in Niigata pref., are knitted in a 5-gauge flat knitting machine, which is like knitting a sweater, using two-stranded yarns that are much larger than usual.

Therefore, the current shape has been completed after many sample revisions and model changes to pursue the stretchy nature of the knitwear and the comfort of wearing it.

I think that there is a point of reach (a point of compromise) in the gap between whether the knitwear can be made as a product or not, not only immediately after wearing it, but also after wearing it repeatedly, depending on how the knitwear is packed (degree) and the number of yarns taken, because of its elasticity.

Using thick count yarn with soft twisted yarn which spun recycling cotton mill waste,this item has a firm texture like hand-framed knit and is machine knitted by skilled craftsmen.This is a product that combines the functionality of a knitwear.

As the denim of the Ridget is brought up, you can enjoy the aging change, and as a friend of the life that can casually wear even in summer and winter, sometimes let you swim like a jellyfish that got water, and love it.
